Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  Can I use my benefits for friends or family?  e.g. Huband wants his massage receipt written in his wife's name to access her insurance as his benefits are all used up.

A:  No, absolutely not.  Writing a receipt in anyone's name other than the massage recipient is considered insurance fraud.  I will not do this under any circumstances to maintain professionalism and ethics within the industry as well as avoidance of any possible liability.

Q:  What is the protocol with tipping?  I know some places accept tips and others don't so I'm confused with what is expected.

A:  Gratuities are absolutely not mandatory or obligatory.  However, if you choose to add a gratuity it will be graciously accepted.  The best tip a massage therapist can receive is to rebook or refer friends or family to their business.

Q:  Do you mind that I have pets?

A:  Not at all.  Pets typically feel quite relaxed and will usually curl up and sleep while a massage is underway.  However, I am allergic to dander so if they are major shedders I ask that the majority of pet hair is removed from all areas of your home I will be accessing.  Supplies such as my table case will be touching the floor and can easily collect loose hair which then comes home with me which is not good.  Some cats love to chew on the cables under my table so may need to be closed in another room if this happens.  If your pet has a mellow temperament I'm fine with them relaxing in the same room with us.  You know your pet best so you be the judge.

Q:  What do you base your prices on?

A:  Inflation of my own business expenses as well as being comparible to my competators.

Q:  Are you accepted by all insurance companies?

A:  As far as I am aware, yes.  I'm a 2200+ hour therapist and am licensed with the city and registered with an association.  I have yet to be denied by one so if you have any issues claiming your receipt please let me know.

Q:  Do you massage kids?

A:  Yes.  Kids have tight muscles too.
